Toward PCIe Gen 5 Composable Infrastructure as a Service

2078

In 'Toward an Enterprise-ready Composable Infrastructure as a Service,' Dr. I-Hsin Chung analyzes the rising trend of composable systems in the IT market. Having PCIe interconnect fabric and externalized PCIe devices, clients can manage their systems more economically and flexibly. Such a revolution has greatly benefited data processing.

However, along with the continued growth of data centers, the demand for a faster-transferring speed to catch up will only get stronger. H3's pioneering in the CIaaS (Composable Infrastructure as a Service) since PCIe Gen 3 has kept breaking up the transferring limit of HPC. Therefore, H3 could earn the great honor of becoming the exemplar in this 2021 conference paper. The following year, H3 got invited to participate in the Panel discussion as a presenter at SuperComputing Conference 2022 (SC22) on this topic. All these witness H3's unique leading role in the world and acknowledge H3's hard work in solving the restriction of the current server architecture.

After 6 to 7-year solid experience in the IT market, H3 truly knows how to build up the whole packet of the composable infrastructure from hardware chassis on the rack to software management on users' laptop screens.

For example, a big enterprise adopts H3's composable system design to digest its massive data. The traditional GPU server can not fulfill their great need for data computation. Therefore, they successfully expand their processors through H3 composable solution design. Installed with 24 FPGA devices (replacing GPU owing to its programmable feature), H3's Falcon 4210 GPU Expansion Chassis allows them to successfully take in those gigantic amounts of data.

Another excellent example of using H3 infrastructure design is a world-wide key E-commerce platformin Mainland China. They have to process clients' day-to-day data to infer their subsequent shopping behaviors, which depends on AI computing every night. With H3's PCIe switch technological support, they could cost-effectively allocate their resources to servers day and night with the same set of accelerators instead of separately purchasing specific processors. Such a centralized resource reconfiguration via Falcon 4210 GPU Expansion Chassis efficiently increases device utilization and enhances data throughput capacity, thanks to its scalability.

The two case examples above indicate H3's capability to realize device pooling potential and expand resource configuration flexibility. That might be why SC 22 invites H3 to share experiences in the panel session. H3 is ready for everything @SC22. We look forward to displaying H3's avant-garde PCIe Gen 5 CIaaS worldwide.
